During your 30’s you might start to see facial sagging, deep creases, folds and wrinkles. This isn’t because you haven’t moisturised your face every morning and night, it’s simply because around this age you start to lose the collagen and elastic fibres in your skin.
This ultimately changes the support structures in your face, but there is a safe and easy method to restore and redefine your facial structure using a procedure called Thread Lift.
The Thread Lift is a day procedure performed under local anaesthesia and generally takes between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the number of threads used.
A Thread Lift uses the concept of inserting fine threads under the skin to lift or tighten the target areas. This procedure helps to return the natural contours of the face.
Dr Zacharia makes a small and discreet incision behind the hairline and the threads are advanced along the previously marked contours to create a firm hold on the underlying tissues. The threads are designed to affix to the tissue as they are softly contoured into place.
Once in position, your body generates new collagen bundles that surround each thread to maintain the lifting effect. The exact placement of the threads will vary from patient to patient. Unlike other thread products, Contour Threads are clear in color so they are not visible under fair or thin skin.
Thread Lift does not replace a conventional facelift; rather it offers an innovative, minimally invasive surgical approach to achieving facelift-like results. By gently shifting sagging tissues in an upward direction, this technique allows Dr Zacharia to produce a relaxed, fresh appearance while preserving and enhancing the natural contours of your face.

The Threads procedure is a simple procedure to perform and complications are rare and will be less likely with an experienced surgeon such as Dr Zacharia.
Promoitalia Threads are used in the procedure as they are the only absorbable barbed suture product cleared by the TGA for the elevation and fixation of mid face, brow and neck areas. These specifically designed sutures are made from clear polypropylene, a material that has been safely used in the body for many years in other medical products.
Since this technique is entirely reversible, unwanted effects can usually be easily corrected under local anaesthesia.
Depending on your age at the time of the procedure, the degree of sagging and the number of threads used, the duration of the effect can vary from two to five years but you should only need one initial procedure.
You can still have more facial cosmetic surgery after a Thread Lift, if and when required. Every surgical procedure involves a certain amount of risk, and it is important that you understand the risks involved. You may experience discomfort, scarring, infection, bruising, swelling, bleeding, temporary or permanent damage to deeper structures, allergic reactions, pigment changes, partial laxity correction, delayed healing, asymmetry, redness or visible threads.
