He was also the president of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr Zacharia continues to contribute his experience at international conferences and seminars across the world.

He will always promote wellness with his cosmetic procedures and natural results. He uses some of the best surgical techniques to deliver fantastic results and uses modern technology to achieve the best patient care.

Whether patients are looking to improve the effects of aging or undergo a big cosmetic change, Dr Michael Zacharia always makes patients feel welcome and reassured to make sure they feel comfortable, as well as devise a personalised care plan to meet their needs.

Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

With Dr. Zacharia, you can enjoy a variety of facial rejuvenation procedures.

This includes treatments to improve the effects of aging, preventative treatments and life-changing surgeries. Achieving results that promote subtle revitalisation is always the goal of Dr. Zacharia.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that both men and women can enjoy. It is a surgery that Dr Zacharia can perform on all ages if the nose has fully developed. For men, this will normally mean that surgery can be an option from the age of 18 years old. For women, rhinoplasty can be possible from the age of 16 years old.

Rhinoplasty is often a procedure that is chosen by patients for cosmetic reasons. Whether this is because the nose is crooked or it has always been misshapen, it is a surgery that can help to improve this. But, rhinoplasty can also be a procedure that can help to correct nasal difficulties and relief sinus problems caused by the nose structure.

Dr Zacharia will make sure that all patients feel comfortable before rhinoplasty with a thorough consultation. This will involve discussing the patient’s wishes and whether they are right for the procedure.

A general anaesthetic will be administered before the surgery to ensure it is pain-free and simple for the patient. Dr Zacharia will choose the best incision technique to use to achieve each patient’s goals and this will be discussed during the consultation. This will allow for any excess cartilage or bone to be removed. The skin will be repositioned before the incisions are closed. Normally, rhinoplasty surgery takes around two to three hours to complete.

There is some downtime for patients after rhinoplasty. After all, it is a surgical procedure and the nose will take some time to heal. Some swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes is common, the area can also feel tender. It will be necessary to wear a splint over the nose to encourage the new adjustments and to achieve the best results. This is normally for around 7-10 days after having surgery.

It is recommended to take around one or two weeks off work for recovery from rhinoplasty. This will help any swelling, bruising and discomfort to subside. Any strenuous exercise or activities can be resumed after 3-4 weeks. Every patient will be different and advice can be sought from Dr Zacharia.

It can take some time to see the final results from the surgery, but patients can look forward to seeing gradual and subtle changes for six to 12 months after rhinoplasty. While incisions are made during surgery, every effort is made by Dr Zacharia to make sure that incisions are hidden or are very small so they will not be noticeable.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can restructure the nose.

With over 25 years of experience in cosmetic surgery and as an ENT specialist, Dr Zacharia has completed thousands of rhinoplasty surgeries.

Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can restructure the nose. This can include correcting nasal humps, minimising the nasal tip, fixing a crooked and changing a misshapen nose. This surgery involves removing excess bone and cartilage, as well as sculpting cartilage, which is done very carefully by Dr Zacharia. Breathing and sinus problems can also be relieved through rhinoplasty. It is a procedure that does involve going under a general anaesthetic and there is some downtime associated with the surgery.

Facelift Surgery

Facelift surgery is a popular procedure to change your facial appearance.

Dr Zacharia is a specialist in head and neck surgery, which means that you are in safe hands. He has over 25 years of medical experience and offers many cosmetic and rejuvenation procedures to make patients look and feel their best. This includes procedures that can combat the signs of aging, such as facelift surgery.

Through surgery and facial incisions, wrinkles and deep lines can be diminished, as well as sagging skin removed, such as jowls and around the jawline. This surgery does require patients to go under a general anaesthetic, with an overnight hospital stay for recover. There is also some downtime required.

Patients who would like to have facelift surgery should be in good overall health. This is a procedure that is suitable for men and women who would like to enjoy a different facial appearance. This can include the desire to diminish any wrinkles or sagging skin from around the face.

Before the facelift surgery, patients will attend a consultation with Dr Zacharia. This is the opportunity to find out more about the procedure and have all of the risks and after care explained to you.

Facelift surgery will involve the patient going under a general anaesthetic. This enables the surgery to be comfortable and for Dr Zacharia to deliver the best results. Marking will be made on the patient’s face to indicate where the incisions will be. This is normally behind the hairline or near a fold of skin. The patient’s skin will be lifted and any excess tissue will be removed. The incisions will be closed and usually an overnight stay will be necessary for patients.

It is important for patients to remember that there is some downtime associated with having a facelift. After all, it is a surgical procedure. It is normal for patients to experience some swelling and bruising after the surgery. The area may also feel tender. Usually, these symptoms will subside within two to three weeks of having surgery. It is possible to take pain relief if patients are feeling uncomfortable and Dr Zacharia will discuss the best after care in more detail.

Most patients choose to take around two weeks off work after facelift surgery. This allows swelling to become less noticeable and allow for some recovery before returning to the daily routine. In addition, it allows patients to feel more comfortable with the way they look after surgery. Any exercise or strenuous activities should be avoided for around four weeks and re-introduced slowly. It is also recommended to avoid direct sun exposure in the first couple of weeks after facelift surgery. This will make sure that the skin is protected and healthy during recovery.

Patients love to see what Dr Zacharia has achieved with facelift surgery. But, it is essential to be patient and release that the final results will take a few months to be appreciated. The changes will be subtle but gradual and most patients can enjoy the final results of a facelift after around three months.

Dr Michael Zacharia will take great care to ensure there is minimal scarring from facelift surgery. This includes making incisions that are going to be hidden by the natural hairline or by folds in the skin. The scars that are there will fade with time.

SURGICAL INTERESTS

I have a special interest in Facial Cosmetic Surgery and have pursued this by performing a fellowship in Beverly Hills with Plastic Surgeon Dr Harry Glassman and attending with other Plastic and Facial Plastic surgeons (Dr Frank Kamer and Dr Steve Hoefflin) . I attend instructional and educational courses regularly and travel overseas yearly to visit experienced surgeons and lecture widely in the field of Cosmetic Surgery.

At present my practice consists of mostly facial plastic surgery. I am now one of the busiest facial surgeons in Australia and concentrate mostly on Facelift and Rhinoplasty surgery. I perform all facial cosmetic procedures including Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Otoplasty, Rhytidectomy, Endoscopic Browlift, Deep Plane Face Lift, and a wide variety of facial implant/injection procedures. I also perform Liposuction to the body and Breast Augmentation procedures.

I have had a specific interest in Rhinoplasty, which is a procedure I perform often and is an ultimate challenge and passion. Secondary/revision rhinoplasty is certainly becoming a common procedure in my practice. My desire is to perform all aspects of facial reconstructive work, including post-traumatic and congenital deformities. To this end I have spent time with Dr Dean Toriumi, Facial Plastic Surgeon, Chicago and Dr Gary Burget, Plastic Surgeon, Chicago, both of whom have a vast experience in Rhinoplasty and specifically nasal reconstructive surgery.
